This is a dirt/gravel route, you will need dual purpose tires & some ground clearance for this route! (Cruisers = probably not passable, ADV bikes/Dual-sports = beginner/intermediate friendly, Scramblers = okay if skilled) -GPS to Golden Pond Visitor Center for parking -FS141 is novice friendly gravel road with some flowy hills, turns, and a few creek crossings that could be tricky for brand new riders. -After a short pavement section you'll get on FS318, which is a dirt road with a few muddy spots -Going WEST on FS139 will take you to Persimmon Point but beware of washouts and some large deep mud-pits you should BYPASS IF SIDE TRAILS ARE AVAILABLE , going EAST will take you an easy route back to the trace. Persimmon point has a fire pit and swing overlooking the cove; if you take a short *!hike!* north between the lake & lagoon there is a tiki bar built in the woods (See picture). Although it looks like a road/trail to the tiki bar, forest service warned us to leave our bikes at persimmon point to avoid a ticket next time.
