Rider Safety Basics
The fundamentals every newer rider should know, from gear and pre-ride checks to braking, visibility, and riding with a group.

About this course
New to riding, coming back after a few years, or just want a refresher? This free course walks through the basics that keep you riding for the long haul: training, gear, the pre-ride check, your controls, seeing and being seen, braking and cornering, and riding with a group.
Each lesson is short, with a video from a rider-training source and notes written rider to rider. The course runs in three sections, each with a short quiz. Finish the lessons, pass each section quiz and the final quiz, and you'll earn a Certificate of Completion from District 76 Riders. Every bike, every rider, all welcome.
Important: this course is for education. It doesn't replace a state-approved rider course or motorcycle licensing. If you haven't taken one yet, a hands-on course with a certified instructor is the best next step you can take.
